The Reading Festival is the longest-running popular music festival in the UK with many of the world's biggest acts having played at the festival over five decades.
Reading takes place simultaneously with Leeds Festival on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The festival has had various musical phases over the years, but since the current two-site format was adopted in 1999, it has established itself as the Premier festival for rock, alternative, indie, punk, and metal in the UK.
